Hair Flowing in Wind

she wanted help

she did not need

advice was given

but not received

insisting her zipper

would not be freed

and the park silently awaits

she thought a whine

would make me act

she thought some pouting

would make me crack

she yelled when I showed her

how to, in fact

and the park silently awaits

she begged me close

but pushed away

the help i offered

the calm i gave

she screamed; i brewed tea

no calm, no play

and the park silently awaits

she falls apart

i sit, feet up

she wails on the ground

i sip my cup

when calm i will help her

out of her rut

and the park silently awaits

but something new

drew my ears back

the sound of big sis

calm, smooth, in fact

I will do it with you,

our breathing act.

and the park silently awaits

I can’t!” she pled

Watch me, in … out

i taste my tea

she broke through doubt

i nearly cried to think

how trust comes ‘bout

and the park silently awaits.

i’ve tried before

to calm her down

with focus on breath

she chose her frown

wouldn’t give up the cry

but sis sat down

and the park silently awaits

they worked as one

focused, steady

big sis the wise being

lil sis {THIS TIME} ready

together their breathing

potent, heady

and the park silently awaits

i could have sat

there ears perked back

and listened to them

breathing on track

and listened forever

a joy attack

and the park silently awaits

with lack of whine

she came to me

and asked for my help

given happily

big sis stood behind her

proud, tall and free

and the park silently awaits

in watching them

i found delight

hair flowing in wind

worries take flight

on the swings that they love

their spirits shine bright

and my heart silently inflates
